An automotive/business/sales skills related qualification Ideally at least 3+ years in the automotive/sales trade

New Source Imports Pty Ltd is an established importer with a digital-first strategy through e-commerce. Our main website sells automotive diagnostics, workshop equipment, & parts (autosupplyoriginal.kinsta.cloud). We also have a reseller network of 25 businesses across the country and would like to continue to grow this (especially in the Gauteng region).

Our mission is to source high-quality automotive products at competitive prices with a simple buying experience and a big focus on customer success. We are a young, driven, and enthusiastic team looking to disrupt the e-commerce industry in Africa.

We’re currently experiencing a period of rapid transformative growth within our new Johannesburg branch that opened in May 2021.  

Automotive Diagnostic Intelligence

Autel Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. manufactures
and supplies diagnostic tools, equipment,
and accessories for the automotive aftermarket.

Job Description

At the moment, we are flying in staff back and forth from Cape Town to Johannesburg to be operational in the short term. 

In November, one of our Cape Town managers will move full-time to Johannesburg to manage the branch operationally.

We are also looking for two additional salesman

We require someone with a background in the automotive industry. We need to have certainty that this person is trustworthy, reliable, and pro-actively engaged to help us convert our clients. We are continuously expanding our product range so knowledge and insight into assisting us with expansion in our products of equipment and parts will be highly beneficial.

We are the local distributors for internationally recognized diagnostic brands such as Autel and Launch. Knowledge in this field would be highly beneficial. You can read more about our diagnostic range here and specifically the Autel range here & Launch range here

Job Responsibilities

Assist with sales (walk-ins, phone calls, leads, emails, outbound sales calls, etc)

Assist with administrative work (customer support, research, packing products, stock counts, etc)

The sales process (leads):

Qualify

    • When we get leads, It is best to try to have a phone call with them to fully understand their needs, budget, and urgency for a purchase.
    • If we cannot get hold of the client, we normally send them an email with more info and ask them some questions to open up the conversation.

Quote

    • Once a lead has been qualified, we quote them through our system called DEAR.

Followup

    • We get a lot of leads and want none of them to “fall through the cracks”. If we cannot get hold of leads and we have sent emails, but have not had feedback, Ideally we should be attempting another follow-up call (if no answer, another email) within a week from the first attempt.
    • For qualified leads that we have quoted already, you might have the responsibility of assisting follow-ups on these with a call/email after a week (depending on the client’s response, setting additional follow-up reminders). Sales can take months to convert, so we just need to make sure that we are top of mind.

Convert & Support

    • Once a client has converted, you will need to maintain a good relationship with the client as customer satisfaction is one of our main competitive priorities (they then repeat purchases and also refer friends).
    • After-sales call to make sure they are happy if they need anything else
    • If the client has issues, it is your responsibility to make sure that within our internal support team that they get fully assisted.

Job Qualifications

  • An automotive/business/sales skills related qualification
  • Ideally at least 3+ years in the automotive/sales trade 
  • Knowledge of automotive industry, products and services (diagnostics highly beneficial)
  • Great communication skills (Must be computer literate)
  • Someone that can take initiative and be flexible to learn and lead any responsibility
  • A team player to assist on any assignment at short notice (organized and pays attention to detail)
  • Able to pass background checks
